Have you ever had someone you care about tell you that you cannot do something you really want to do in life? If so, how did that impact your life? Did you go ahead and try it anyway, or did you decide they were right so you didn’t even try? When you allow others to control what you can do, you are giving them control of such things. You are the one that is ultimately responsible for what you do and/or do not do over the course of your life. You can’t just place the blame on other people because they said you can’t. Other people do not have control unless you let them have it. This is just one thing you will learn when you begin a regimen of confidence development.
Having confidence is completely up to you. You need to go on a path to self discovery to help lead you to who you are and where you are going in your life. You can start this incredible journey by making a list of your good qualities. Every good quality is important here. Include those things that you take for granted like having good grooming habits or keeping a clean house. Even listing your most attractive physical features counts towards what is good about you and will lead to confidence development. Maybe you have great eyes or hair or you have a fabulous sense of fashion. No matter what is good about you; list it! Just making the list will start to make you see that there are many good things about you.
Making a list of your good attributes is only a start to your quest for developing self confidence. Here are a few other things you can do to gain more self confidence.
A positive attitude Learn to love yourself Do things that make you feel good Surround yourself with positive family and friends Use your mistakes as positive learning experiences instead of concentrating on negative impacts Smile at yourself daily (preferably several times) Give yourself a break and realize you are great the way you are Realize that not being perfect is okay
There are many other things you can do to increase your confidence development efforts, but the above list is a good starting point. Remember that you can do anything you really want to do. The sky is the limit.
